I make a point to leave feedback for businesses whether it's good or bad. I've noticed most people nowadays only bother to take the time to say anything negative but rarely bother to leave anything positive. With that being said; I am disappointed to see there aren't more positive reviews, but I suspect it's for the reason I've mentioned above, which is truly a shame.
I am going to be completely honest; when I went on my tours for the schools I allowed my shallow side to get the best of me. During my tours, I wanted, and was looking, to be wowed by state of the art technology, computers, and ubber modern "high end spa" like decor. I found that with another school and was so wowed that I chose them. Very quickly after, upon telling friends who were already in this industry, I realized how strong of a reputation the Institute had for turning out Estheticians who not only really knew their stuff but were also highly sought after by employers for such a reason. I knew the owner also had a reputation for being tough, but I wanted my education in aesthetics to be top notch and was told by many that IAAS is where you go to get that for skincare. So, I changed my school, signed my contract and started the night program this past September. Yesterday, I passed my final exam.
In my journey from September to yesterday I will tell you these things: Those were some of the fastest months of my life. Kathy, the owner, is tough but in the sense that she holds a high standard for all her students and expects them reach it, which is exactly why her students are known for their advanced educations and are sought by employers who know quality. My only regret was not figuring that out until a couple months in, as I would have utilized that time absorbing more valuable information from her. Laurie and Julie are amazing instructors as well. Put them and Kathy in the same room and you will either learn how incredibly smart these women all are as they collectively teach whatever subject is up, or how funny they are together. Julie, my night instructor, was especially remarkable in her level of patience and dedication for our educations and the many individual styles of which we each learned best. The bond that I made with my classmates was unexpected and unparalleled. I did not expect to have four job offers nor to feel truly saddened to be have completed the course. The quality of education for skincare being taught and the real world experience was invaluable and one of the best decisions I have ever made was to attend THIS school. My advice for any perspective students; do your research. State of the art technology, urban decor or what's on the wall is not as nearly important to your quality of education as the dozens of international diplomas, certificates and achievements your director and instructors have earned. Truly and absolutely LOVE my new career as an Esthetician and am confident and proud of the education I received at IAAS!
