River Glen Health Care Center — Establishment, health and physiotherapist at 162 South Britain Road, Southbury, Connecticut.

A couple of years ago my father was in rehab at River Glen, after open heart surgery, for approximately a month. It was by far the worst nursing home I had ever visited. Although I know there never is enough nurses in a nursing home, the nurse on his floor could not give you the time of day, especially if you called for any issues. His wheel chair had no leg extensions on them that fit. When asked for ones that fit and not the BENT ones that were on the chair, we were told they didn't have any more. He had back issues and when I requested a cardiac recliner chair, I was told that they needed those chairs for patients that had to be parked by the nursing desk so they could be watched. All these issues and more were reported to the supervisor. Unfortunately, I never called the Umbudsman as suggested at another highly reputable, and caring facility. I wish I had because it may have benefited other patients! My mistake! I am a nurse and come from a medical family with enough knowledge of what should be provided for proper care of patients. Rating this facility with one star is even way too much!
